Omotola Jalade makes surprise appearance at ‘Ties That Bind’ premiere

Nollywood star actress, Omotola Jolade-Ekeinde pulled a surprise appearance at the Ghana premiere of the award-winning movie, ‘Ties That Bind’, after deliberately telling director, Leila Djansi that she wouldn’t be able to make the premiere in Accra, due to an engagement in Nigeria.

A stunning Omotola, dressed in a dark-brown gown adorned with a ruby laced neckline, arrived at the National Theatre nearing the end of the first showing for ‘Ties That Bind’, and she did it in style. She immediately turned the attention of the press to herself, walking through one interview to the next and posing for one photographer after the other, till the first showing came to an end. When she was introduced to the crowd in the auditorium, she was received with a thunderous applause as she shared her experience of making the movie with the crowd.

She was later besieged by several fans for their photo opportunities until she had to make her way back into the auditorium for the seconding showing. In ‘Ties That Bind’ Omotola plays the role of Adobea, a sick pregnant woman who discovers she has a chronic disease under the most tragic of circumstances. The role recently won Omotola the nod for Best Actress in an African collaboration at the Ghana Movie Awards. The CEO of the awards, Fred Nuamah hinted that while the actress was in Ghana, she would be presented with her trophy.

Tonto Dikeh Reveals Meaning of Her Tattoo, "Am a Witch" she says

There is no doubt that since the picture of a tattoo of star Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh was posted online some days ago, it has generated lots of controversies both within and outside the country.

Many tongues have wagged on the controversial picture. Many different meanings have been read to the piece of photograph. For some, the picture depicts some undertone of the devil, while others see no diabolic meaning to the creature created in the tattoo but just a piece of fashion.

For this controversy happy queen of Nollywood, who has grown a thick skin to most abusive writings and comments directed to her, she has finally come out to talk on what the meaning of the creature drawn on her back carries, especially with the kind of heat this particular picture has generated.

According to what this daughter of a top Rivers State politician, who once had the ambition of running for a political seat in that state said, “the tattoo took me 10hours to be done with, while I had a two hour break in-between.”

Speaking further, when asked if the controversial tattoo had any undertone meaning, she simply answered, “yes, and it is very deep, I am a witch.”

Though she was not willing to disclose the exact meaning the tattoo has, but information available at our disposal from a very reliable and impeccable source, who is deep into such doings only confirmed to us that only strong people carry such tattoo on their body.

According to the source, “you cannot see any ordinary human being with this kind of tattoo; this is what I know very much about. Though I am not suppose to say this, I know the society she belongs to, but I am not going to tell you that. If she does not take things easy with herself, she might not like the end of it all, that I assure you of.”

Tonto has since her 2006 AMBO days seen a very quick rise to fame in the make-believe industry in Nigeria. She is presently in the United States for Damage US tour and she is expected back in Nigeria in some days to come.

Tonto Dike Gets A Big Tattoo On Her Back On United States Trip (Picture)

Nollywood star actress, Tonto Dikeh, is by now enjoying the best of her life as a make-believe queen in the United States of America where she is with her friends and colleagues, Uche Jombo, Kalu Ikeagwu and others for the tour of the movie 'Damage' in the States.

Tonto Dike had left the shores of this country earlier this month to the United States for that purpose, Damage premiere US tour. Just some weeks back, news had filtered the media of her 57 tattoos on her body, which she was happy with when people read about it.

Just yesterday, she posted a picture online of her new drawn tattoo, which she did on her back just about two days back in the United States. The picture has been generating comments from her friends on twitter and other social networking sites online.

In one instance, one of her fans asked why she drew a bigger tattoo on her body (back), she simply replied the fan to get himself killed if he was not happy with her tattoo.

Hmm, Miss Ikwere lady or Engineer Tonto, that was too harsh to say to a person and from a celeb like you. All the same, your fans care about you, which is why they are concerned about you. As you once said, it is your body and life, no question. Success........

Nollywood star actress Stephanie Okereke has signed an endorsement deal with Kaneka Corporation of Japan – makers of hair fibre Kanekalon, as brand ambassador in Nigeria.

According to the hair fibre company, ‘the endorsement will see the award winning actress promoting the company’s product and participating in the marketing campaigns which include Kanekalon’s brand building campaign, Kanekalon ‘Salon Storm’ Activation, Kanekalon ‘Night of a Thousand Braids’ event and other brand promotional activities’.

The company also announced that Okereke will be the major face of Kanekalon in Nigeria and will pay customary visits to a select number of beauty salons where she will be educating consumers and hairstylists.

‘In line with Kaneka Corporation’s corporate philosophy and strategic direction to promote the beauty of the African woman through the provision of high quality hair products, Kaneka desires to play a more prominent role in the economy by investing more in the Nigerian market’, Hideaki Nakamura, Manager Marketing, Kanekalon spoke about the endorsement deal.

‘The African woman is legendary for her beauty and her strength, her style and grace; she is an epitome of beauty, and unmatched quality and a style icon. All this I hope to promote as Kanekalon ambassador’, Stephanie Okereke commented on her new role.

Stephanie Okereke came into the Nollywood scene in 1997. After graduating from the University of Calabar, she moved into Nollywood full-time. Earlier in the year, Okereke starred alongside Oscar winner and Hollywood A-list star Meryl Streep in the on-stage play ‘Seven’.
