  • "Desmond Elliot Dead" Rumors Not True -Nollywood News

    NOLLYWOOD NEWS - The death of popular Nollywood actor Desmond Elliot has been spreading like wildfire lately, but that is NOT TRUE and only a fake death rumour due to a new movie the actor is working on, Nigeria Movie Network have gathered.


    Desmond Elliot is not dead ooo!!! He is alive, healthy, and fine as always! 

    According to a recent report published by LaLate News, "Desmond Elliot is not dead – Actor battles fake death report today". See the Nollywood news below for more clarity.

    LOS ANGELES (LALATE) Desmond Elliot is not dead. Desmond Elliot is the victim of a fake death report today stemming from a false Facebook image and post. On Friday September 14, 2012, someone wrote on Facebook that Elliot was dead. They posted what appeared to be a death picture. But then at the end of the post, they added a “qualifier” which read “And please don’t panic because its just a shot from the yet-to-be released Movie.”

    Just days ago fans were asking if Morgan Freeman had died this September 2012. Now, Desmond Elliot joins Freeman and Bill Nye among the latest celebrities to be struck by fake death reports this month. Today’s tale derives from Facebook, once again. Fans, nevertheless, are irate.

    Elliot is a Nigerian actor with more than two hundred credits to his name. But three hours ago, a Facebook account posted a picture of a man covered in blood. The text that went with the image read “BREAKING NEWS: Nigerian Actor Desmond Elliot found Motionless, drown in his blood in a Hotel in Nigeria”. The fake report claimed that Elliot had been murdered in a hotel room.

    The false report later stated “Movie fans who first heard the news in Nigeria are in shaking feathers and Investigations are going-on of who might be behind his murder”. But at the bottom of the Facebook post, the author wrote”And please don’t panic because its just a shot from the yet-to-be released Movie”. Other websites, however, have since taken the body of the fake report, re-posted it to readers, but omitted the “please don’t panic” section.

    On Nigeria Movie Network Facebook page, some loyal fans of Desmond Elliot are in shock to hear reports of his sudden death and have been asking questions to confirm the story, but that false rumour was short-lived as NMN team took the initiative to inform Nollywood fans properly that Mr. Elliot is well-alive and not dead.

    Is Funke Akindele pregnant? That is the latest Nollywood gossip in the Nigeria film industry ever since the popular Yoruba actress stormed the Nigeria Entertainment Awards in New York with her pregnancy showing.

    It seems like the positive effect of her honeymoon nights have started yielding good results as you can see in the photo above. The popular Yoruba actress married her heartthrob Kehinde Oloyede in May this year. Many sources confirm that Funke is about 4 months pregnant, but no one knows if it's a boy or girl yet.

    Unlike other Nollywood actresses, Funke Akindele-Oloyede is not hiding her natural gift when she stormed the Nigeria Entertainment Awards in New York, USA. She was even spotted and dazzling on the red carpet taking photos with photographers clicking away with passion during the event.

    The Nigeria Entertainment Awards (NEA) event, which several Nollywood actors and Nigerian entertainers     attended, took place this past Sunday September 2nd 2012. Uche Jombo, Susan Peters and other Nollywood icons graced the star-studded event.

    Funke Akindele aka Jenifa won BEST ACTRESS (FILM) in category #15 at the just concluded NEA awards with     'The Return of Jenifa' (TROJ) movie.

    Additionally, Funke Akindele was recently honored with a Varsity award of recognition by the students of the University of Ibadan this past June. Notable, the popular Nollywood actress showed up at the event with her husband, Kenny Doo Almaroof Oloyede.

    At the University of Ibadan event, Funke Akindele speaking about life after her wedding, was quoted to have said; “One has to be responsible now, you have to think for two. Now I can’t just wake up and decide to go to London or anywhere, I have to discuss with someone. I prefer it now thou.”

    We wish the Oloyede's a happy married life and many children to solidify their marriage. Congratulations Jenifa kan!

  • Yvonne Nelson reacts to allegation of selling fake designer brands

    Media was awash with reports of Ghanaian actress selling fake designer items in her boutique. The actress who had ignored the reports when she first read the reports has had a change of mind after a TV station reported the news with reaching her.


    According to the actress, I believe the persons behind these stories have other plans and the massive media impression they keep on building makes me suspect they want to give my fashion shop a bad reputation just to collapse my business for reasons best known to them.

    Yvonne Nelson said she’s shocked because she does not even sell Louis Vuitton (LV) or Gucci Products currently.

    Any person who has been to my shop can testify to what am saying.

    Currently, I don’t even have more than5 bags in my shop. And All my bags are Aldo and they are sold out, Yvonne also noted.

    She went on to explained further;“Ask other persons who sell designer stuff and they would tell you that most people will not like to buy $3000 LV bags if brought them here or $5000 Chanel bag.

    Yvonne Nelson said that when she buy such stuffs outside, she use them for her personal use and don’t come out making branded fake news and ads about my shop contents and qualities, as other brands do in their websites.

    Yvonne also noted that she only tweet that picture of her personal bags. People can come and check them out and also check LV website and let see the difference.

    Chinedu Ikedieze and his newly wedded wife are back in the country after spending seven nights and days in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates’ capital city.



    Chinedu and his wife, Nneoma flew back to Nigeria on Friday, January 20, 2012, after enjoying their honeymoon in the oil rich, beautiful country which is one of the world’s most sought after tourist destinations.

    After his arrival, the world famous thespian and entertainer said;

    “it was seven days and nights of fun. I had fun with my wife. We visited many places in United Arab Emirates (UAE),” he said.

    It is rumored he spent well over $35,000 on the leisure trip – they lodged at the prestigious Four Points by Sheraton in Abu Dhabi while hanging out at various fun spots.

    The celebrity couple also went for shopping before returning to their native land over the weekend.
    And not yet satisfied, we learnt that Aki, as he is popularly called, may jet out to the Americas for Valentine in continuation of his celebration of love.

  • Funke Akindele in a hot fight with Sugar Asoegwu

    Fresh Nollywood gist making circles in the media indicate that Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele of Jenifa fame engaged fellow actress, Sugar Asoegwu in a hot fight in the city Abuja, Nigeria, recently.



    Funke was reported to have shown negative attitude to Sugar, who straight away rained heavy words on the star actress. Funke was apparently expecting Sugar to worship and tremble at the sight of her, as an A-list and accomplished actress. This got Sugar filled with rage and was reported to be ready for a show down with the crooner.

    The feud between the two started when Funke learnt that Sugar was given a lead role by the movie producer in a movie Funke was given a sub lead character to play. A development we learnt Funke saw as a slap on her person as an A-list actress in the industry.

    It further was revealed that Funke accused Sugar of dating the movie producer (names withheld), as a result, getting the lead character for the movie, while she got the supporting actress role.

    Funke was said to have later sworn not to feature in any movie by the producer or act in any movie Sugar is billed to be part of.

    This allegation by Funke was said to have infuriated Sugar the more, who almost descended on The Return of Jenifa producer, promising to teach her a lesson of her life. It took the intervention of those on set to quench the imminent trouble, something that was described as “near to a female war camp.”
