Proudly African, ace Ghanaian actor John Dumelo, is no doubt a popular face to reckon with in the African Movie Industry. Apart from gracing the scenes of several Nollywood and Gollywood movies, he is also involved in philanthropic activities through his John Dumelo Foundation. Fondly called 'JMelo' by fans, the award-winning actor is a big dreamer of a United Africa; Nigeria Movie Network is reporting.
Few months ago, patriotic John Dumelo couldn't help not sharing his dream for a united Africa. He took to Instagram to profess his desire to see Africans of all ethnicity unite and work together towards achieving sustainable development in order to put mama Africa in her rightful position with the rest of the world; your favorite Nigeria Movie Network have gathered.
In John Dumelo's own words:
"A land rich in minerals and resources. Undoubtedly the richest continent in the world. Yet we are classified as the poorest continent as measured by GDP per capita. I wouldn't blame our leaders per say (even though we've had a fair share of intellectually challenged leaders), I would blame ourselves. Our attitude towards others is what's killing us. We should have the habit of helping each other emotionally, psychologically, spiritually and physically. But instead we envy other people's success, we create unnecessary tension, we fill our thoughts and actions with evil. I dream of a united Africa. A place where race, religion and ethnicity shouldn't be a barrier but rather a catalyst for development. I dream of a united Africa....a place we can call home. My name is John dumelo and I'm proudly African."
Earlier this year, John Dumelo was in Cameroon where he donated school supplies to the little children of a primary school in Bonadikombo. Meanwhile, in Ghana, he reportedly presented an amount of GH¢3,000 to the Students Financial Aid Office of the University of Ghana in Legon as a scholarship package for two students who were brilliant but lacked the financial backing to complete their courses at the University.
John Dumelo continues to vist several deprived schools and homes across Africa to donate school items and help with renovation. His philanthropic work is not limited to Ghana, but cuts across barriers to touch the lives of the less-privileged in different regions of Africa.
Dear Nollywood fans, is John Dumelo not the perfect role model to emulate? We wish other Nollywood actors will follow suite instead of wasting money on gold iPhones and bragging about it on social media like Tonto Dikeh and Genevieve Nnaji are fond of doing.
Go John Dumelo...GO!! The sky is only the beginning. May the good spirits of our ancestors continue to bless your efforts! #UnitedAfrica #JMelo #JohnDumeloFoundation
